2) Common problems & their solutions:

FAQ #2.1 When I try to run VisionGauge®, I get the following error message: Error calling function "RNBOsproInitialize", followed by "Invalid License - Permission Denied".
FAQ #2.2 When I try to run VisionGauge®, I get the following error message: "Error! Dongle not found", followed by "Invalid License - Permission Denied".
FAQ #2.3: When I startup VisionGauge® I get the error message "Error loading "FP3D.DLL" Library file".
FAQ #2.4 When I startup VisionGauge® I get no error message and everything seems to be OK. However, when I press on the "Live Video" button, I get the following error message: "Video input signal error".
FAQ #2.5 Using a FlashPoint 3D™ video acquisition board, everything works fine right after I boot the computer, but if I don't use the system for a certain length of time (maybe 15 mins. or 1 hour...) and then start using it again, the "live video" image is all "pink & green".
FAQ #2.6 I am using a stage-based edition of VisionGauge® (i.e. either the Manual-Stage Configuration of the Motorized-Stage Configuration) under either  Windows™ 98 or 95. Sometimes - and for no apparent reason - the display "goes crazy". For example: the displayed text suddenly becomes very large, or the status box at the bottom of the main VisionGauge® window disappears, or the "live image overlay" crosshair changes color, or all of these problems (or similar ones) happen at once... Then, if I keep on working with the system, it will end up either locking up or crashing.
FAQ #2.7 I am using a stage-based edition of VisionGauge® (i.e. either the Manual-Stage Configuration of the Motorized-Stage Configuration) and the version that I initially purchased & installed on this computer is older than version 6.15 (i.e. the number is "smaller" that 6.15. for example: 6.13 or 5.89). Sometimes - and for no apparent reason - the computer either "locks up" or behaves "weird" in some way. For example, sometimes VisionGauge® might not "come up" when I try to start it & I have to reboot the computer to fix the problem...
FAQ #2.8 I am using a FlashPoint 3D or FlashPoint 3Dx video acquisition board. When I turn live video ON in VisionGauge® and the mouse pointer is moved over the live video display, the pointer has a magenta (i.e. "pink") shadow.
FAQ #2.9: When I try to access the "Help" feature in VisionGauge®, the Help window appears with the index, but I am unable to view any of the help pages. I am using Windows™ XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2).
FAQ #2.10: I am using the Motorized-Stage Configuration of VisionGauge® and sometimes - for no apparent reason - the stage and / or column starts moving on its own.
FAQ #2.11: I have properly followed the instructions that came with the dongle, I have read and implemented FAQs # 2.1 and 2.2, and yet I still get the error message "Error calling function RNBOsproInitialize", followed by "Invalid License - Permission Denied" when I try to start VisionGauge®.
FAQ #2.12: I am using a PixeLINK PL-A642 FireWire(tm) digital camera. I have verified that the camera and VisionGauge® both work well on their own. However, when I configure VisionGauge® to use the PixeLINK camera, the computer might lock up, or the software might crash or VisionGauge® doesn't capture video properly (in all of these cases, error messages are being displayed).
FAQ #2.13: Using a FlashPoint 3Dx™ video acquisition board, I can startup VisionGauge® & turn live video On with no error, but when I try to "freeze" the live image (i.e. turn live video OFF), I get the error message "An Error occured while setting the 3D's off-screen capture area".
FAQ #2.14: I have FlashPoint™ framegrabber and when I start my computer, Windows freezes when loading. My computer boots up normally when I remove the framegrabber.
FAQ #2.15: After having installed the hardware security key drivers (version 7.2.1) on a Sony Smart Camera, I try to run either VisionGauge® or VisionGauge® OnLine and I get an error message about the file "SNTNLUSB.SYS".
FAQ #2.16: I want to upgrade my VisionGauge® or VisionGauge® OnLine computer to Windows™ Vista. Is there anything that I need to be aware of?
