Automated Visual Inspection of Laser Printer Cartridge Blades
VisionGauge OnLine
is useful in the laser printer industry with the
automated visual
inspection of the blades used to wipe excess toner off the printing drum. VisionGauge OnLine is able to rapidly and reliably inspect the wiping edge of these blades to detect various types of damage including nicks and cuts.
The blades measure up to 11" in length and the VisionGauge OnLine-based system is able to detect defects as small as 0.0001". In this case, the cycle time is under ten seconds including loading and unloading of the blades.
Fast In-Process Measurement of Small LASER-Drilled Holes
A manufacturer of very thin metallic membranes used in CRT screens needs to inspect LASER-drilled holes as they are being produced.
To solve this application, VisionGauge OnLine was retrofit onto the LASER head of the production equipment and will continuously measure the back-lit holes, as they are being produced. The requirements of this application include a measurement accuracy of 0.0005" and a throughput of many hundreds of holes per minute.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of Date-Lot Codes on Electronic Components
VisionGauge OnLine software is
being used by a manufacturer in the medical device industry to capture date-lot
codes - using VisionGauge OnLine's Optical Character
Recognition software tool - as well as board serial number information - available as a barcode. All of this information is captured by VisionGauge OnLine in a single very high-resolution image and is automatically saved in a database. It is then used to cross-reference component and board information throughout the product's life. This is a high-volume application, and the manufacturing environment in which VisionGauge OnLine is being used operates around the clock.
